The Artist: Grounded in Legacy
My name is Hannah Elizabeth, and I am the artist and principal photographer.
My practice is not simply about taking pictures; it is about the meticulous construction of visual memory—a commitment I formalized through my studies at the Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD), where I earned my Master of Fine Arts (MFA) in Photography.
From Theory to Heirloom
My fine art approach is directly informed by my graduate work and a deep understanding of how images function as emotional artifacts.
My thesis, A Visit Home, explored the profound link between photography and fragmented memory in the context of dementia. It centered on building a scale model—an imagined space shaped by recollection, loss, and longing—where I reconfigured family photographs. This project, which engaged with foundational theory from thinkers like Barthes and Sontag, proved that a photograph’s power lies not in documenting reality, but in granting access to the invisible architecture of our internal, emotional world.
The photographs we create are not just fixed moments in time; they are tangible memory-objects—emotional artifacts built to sustain a family's legacy.
Our Fine Art Commitment
This philosophical background is the very foundation of my Fine Art Portraits.
The Curated Heirloom we create for your family is a continuation of this research into materiality, subjectivity, and spatial storytelling. In a world increasingly saturated with digital abstraction, we offer a counter-method: a commitment to constructed realism and archival permanence.
Every Family Commission, Kid Keepsake, and Bridal Portraiture session is approached with the singular goal of transforming your moments into museum-quality masterpieces. It ensures that the legacy we capture today is visually and physically robust enough to resonate deeply with the generations who will hold your portraits tomorrow.
